Abraham Coffman was born in Virginia in 1763, the son of Jacob Coffman (d. bef. 1791). He married Ann Thursby ca. 1784 in Hampshire County, Virginia. They had fifteen children, 1785-1814, born in Virginia and Kentucky. The family migrated to Bourbon County, Virginia (later Kentucky) ca. 1787 and to Monroe County, Indiana, ca. 1821. He died in Putnam County, Indiana, ca. 1843. Descendants listed lived in Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, and elsewhere.

Andrew B. Meloan was born in about 1753. He enlisted in 1775 in Cecil, Maryland and fought in the Revolutionary War. He married Rachel Ozier Zillerfrow, a widow with three children, in 1781. They had eight children. Andrew died in 1834 in Murray City, Calloway, Kentucky. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
