Edward Butler was born in 1818 in Ireland. He emigrated in 1849. He married Nancy Evans (1829-1855) in 1855. They had one daughter. He married Abigail Clark (d. 1868) in 1864 in Douglas County, Illinois. They had two daughters. He married Ann Gillivary in 1868. They had one son. Edward died in Edgar County, Illinois in 1902. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Illinois.

Barak Michener (1799-1878) was the son of John and Martha Longstreth Michener of Chester Co., Pennsylvania. When he was six years old, hia family moved to Jefferson Co., Ohio, and attended the Short Creek Friends Meeting. David Thomas settled in Darby, Pennsylvania in 1714. He married his third wife, Anna Noble in 1731. She was the daughter of Abel Noble who came to Philadelphia in 1684 and Mary Garrett (born 1670). John Hallowell, a Quaker, of Hucknow, Sutton, Nottinghamshire, England, married twice and was the father of ten children, 1672-1696.
