Victor Hugo Lovejoy was born 4 January 1871 in Old Rippey, Iowa. His parents were James Collins Lovejoy and Emeline Bunnell. He married May Elden, daughter of William Elden and Alma, 19 October 1896. They had four children. He died 30 January 1944 in Clarinda, Iowa.

Silas Moody (1796-1878) was born at Amherst, Massachusetts, the son of Silas Moody (1763-1814) and Eunice Dickinson Moody (1771-1802). He married Judith Green (1796-1877) in 1817. They had nine children, 1818-1836. The family migrated to Vershire, Vermont in 1822. Judith died at Vershire. Silas Moody died at the home of a son in Methuen, Massachusetts.
