Jan Lucken and his wife, Mary, Mennonites, emigrated from Holland to America in 1683 and settled in Pennsylvania. They had eleven children, all born in Pennsylvania.
David Lukens, the son of John and Rachel Robinson Lukens, was born 18 Oct. 1761. He married Mary Shepperd (1770-1818). They had nine children and lived on a farm in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He died in 1828. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania.

John Luken (1729-1813), son of Abraham Luken (1703-1776) and grandson of Jan Lucken, the immigrant, was a surveyer and lived on a plantation in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Descendants spelled their name "Lukens." Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and elsewhere.
Includes a certificate of service in the militia for A. W. Lukens, 1862, and a newscliping, dated 2 Mar. 1885, with an obituary for Alan W. Lukens.

Henry Gustavus Kirby was born 22 July 1835 in England. He was the son of Matthew Gustavus Kirby of London. Henry immigrated to Canada and married Susan Helen Kezar 4 October 1855 in Stanstead Co., Quebec. They moved to Green Lake Township, Kandiyohi Co., Minnesota and were the parents of eleven known children. Henry died 9 September 1915 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington. Descendants lived in Washington, Minnesota and elsewhere.

Seaveren (Severn) Britt (b.1783) was the fourth child of Francis Britt and Esther Townsend of Snowhill, MD, (Coventry Parish records). Francis Britt married Esther Townsend in 1775. He was a descendant of John Britt who was transported by 1678 into Maryland. Severn married Gaynor Lukens in 1811 in Baltimore Co., MD. She was the daughter of Jacob Lukens and (1) Jane Brindley. Johann (Jan) Lucken (1650-1744) was the son of Wilhelm and Aelletgen Lucken of Krefeld, near Rheydt-Geneiken, Germany. He married Marie Theissen, the sister of Reynier Theissen, one of the Germantown, Pennsylvania, founders. He immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1683 and settled at Germantown. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Descendants spell their name "Lukens.".
