The Catholic parish of Aghalurcher or Aughalurcher, also called Lisnaskea, includes the towns of Lisnaskea and Maguiresbridge, in the civil parish of Aghalurgher. There are chapels in both Lisnaskea and Maguiresbridge.

Those surnamed Maguire are said to descend from Milesius, King of Spain who lived in about 1200 BC. One of his descendants was mac Uidhir, Prince of Fera Manach. His descendants became known as Maguires, some of whom were the Princes of Fermanagh and Barons of Enniskillen. Descendants live in Ireland and throughout the world.

George Taylor, son of James Taylor and Abigail Peel (1820-1915), was born 7 August 1849 in Sterling, Scotland. He married Mary Anne Maguire (1851-1938) daughter of Philip Maguire (1825-1902) and Mary Hughes, in 1871 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They had ten children. He died in 1919 in Liskeard, Ontario. Includes Green and related families.

William Maguire immigrated from Ireland to New York, and married Mary McGee (a Scottish immigrant). Their only son, James Maguire (b.1845), served in the U.S. Navy during the Civil War, married widow Cora Belle (Smith) Tibbetts in 1886, and lived in Hollis, New Hampshire. Descendants of William lived in New York, New England, Pennsylvania, Illinois and elsewhere.

Four of their sons immigrated to Indiana at various times in the 19th century: James (1831-1926), Charles (1835-1925), Edward (1837-1921), and Stewart (1845-1913). Robert Clark was born in Ackworth, New Hampshire in 1794. His parents were John Clark and Sarah Grey. He married Sophia Silsby, daughter of Eusebius Silsby and Sarah Grant, in about 1819. They had seven children. She died in 1832 and he married Judith Sleeper and had three more children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Minnesota.

Christian August Wilhelm Machold (1826-1905), a son of Gottfried Machold and Charlotte Schroeder, was born in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1853, where he called himself William Machold. He married Charlotte Matilda Dorothea Krech (1840-1923), a daughter of Johann Ernst Ludwig Krech and Augusta Dorothea Hopf, in 1859. They had six children. Descendants live in the eastern United States.

Mary Bernice Hancock was born 30 January 1895 in Grafton, Jersey, Illinois and married Asa Leonard Maguire (b. 2 January 1896 in Jersey County, Illinois) on 8 April 1918 in Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois. Her parents were George Washington Hancock and Roxina Jane Bell Fosha. Asa Maguire's parents were William Warren Maguire and Lucy Beamon Clark.

Description
George Darling was born in about 1620 in Scotland. He was a prisoner of war of the battle of Dunbar in 1650. He was sent to Massachusetts as an indentured servant. He married Katherine in about 1656 and they had ten children. George died in 1693 in Salem, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Vermont, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
