Thomas Donnelly's family migrated, in the early 1700s, to Belmont, County Galway, Ireland from Cremlin or Bellingram, next to Cullaum in County Mayo, a place about five miles beyond Ballindine. Thomas and his wife Mary Dowd Donnelly, who came from Kilshanvy (or Kilshanby), Kilcony, had eight children. Thomas died when the oldest boy Patrick was 16 years of age, or 1857.
Descendants are located in England, Ireland, Ohio, New York and elsewhere.
