Thomas Courtland Manning was born 14 September 1825 in Edenton, North Carolina. His parents were Joseph Manning (1775-1788) and Sarah Ferebee (1756-1797). He married Mary Louisa Blair (1827-1912) 18 January 1848. They had seven children. He died 11 October 1887 in New York City, New York. He was Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court.

James Lorenzo Manning was born November 14, 1837 in Henry, Alabama. His parents were William Hampton Manning and Nancy Denson. He married Nancy Ann Jackson (1841-1922) October 31, 1858 in Springhill, Alabama. She was the daughter of John T. Jackson and Nancy Wood. James and Nancy had eleven children. James served in the Civil War. Traces Manning descendants and relatives in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and elsewhere.

Robert Kelsay was born 1711 in Dromore, Ireland but was of Scottish rather than Irish descent. He immigrated to America with his brother (John) and they arrived at the port of Philadelphia in 1734. Robert moved to New Jersey and married Mariam Smith in 1742. They were the parents of eight children. Descendants lived in Texas, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri and elsewhere.
