He was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, 30 Mar 1825 to Rice Maxey, son of William Maxey, and Lucetta Pope Bell, daughter of Samuel Bell and Lucetta Pope. He married Mailda Cass Denton, daughter of George N. Denton, 19 June 1853 in Clinton County, Kentucky. He died 16 Aug 1895.

Family history and genealogical data about the descendants of Benjamin Bailey who served in the Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812 under Capt. Samuel Allen. Benjamin married Milly Baker ca. 1800 in South Carolina. They were the parents of four known children. Benjamin died 10 October 1837 in Jackson Co., Arkansas and Milly died in Louisiana. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Louisiana and elsewhere.

Description
The Minkler family originated in Germany where Killian Minkler (1673- 1748) was born. In the early 1700s he and his son Josiah Minkler immigrated to Germantown, New York. Descendants fought in the American Revolution and other wars defending the United States. Descendants traveled west to California and then Washingtonm state where they still reside.
