Mathieu Isaac Agé was born in 1670 in Nantes, France. He immigrated to Virginia in about 1700. He married Cecelia Ann Godwin in 1714 in Manakin-Sabot, Goochland, Virginia. Cecelia was born in 1691 in North Nantes, France. He died in 1735 in Manakintowne, Goochland, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana and Texas.

Mathieu Agé (fl.1685-1761), a Huguenot, emigrated from France to Virginia about 1700/1701, married Ann Gandovin about 1714, settled in Powhatan County, Va. and later moved to Buckingham County, Virginia. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Agee) lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, California and elsewhere.
