Donald McCall was born in 1735 on the Island of Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland. He came to North America as a soldier in about 1756. He married Elsie Simpson in about 1777 and settled in New Jersey. They had nine children. They moved to Canada in 1796. Focuses on his military service with the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment or Black Watch.

Lulu Robinson (1864-1950) is a descendant of the Reverend John Robinson (1575-1614) of Sturton, England and Leyden, Holland, minister to the separatists who, at the Reverend's urging, formed the Mayflower Colony. Lulu married Joseph Siers McCall at Hopkinsville, Texas in 1883; their descendants, who include the Bales, Lancaster, and Olds families, have lived primarily in Texas.
