Biography of Leroy Bentley Skousen (1917-1964), a Mormon and the son of Royal Pratt Skousen and Marguerita Bentley. Carl Robert Essary was born in Texas in 1913. He married Clara Opal McCarty and they were the parents of six children. The family eventually moved to New Mexico where he went into ranching.
