David Jacks, son of Nicholas Jacks and Jane (?) was born 27 October 1795 in Surry County, North Carolina. He married Rachel Johnson, daughter of William Johnson and Mary Parks, 16 June 1821. In 1827, David and Rachel, their son Thomas Mastin Jacks, and daughters Alzena and Jane Jacks, moved with other members of the Jacks clan to Jackson County, Alabama. James Vincent Hartzell (1872-1924), son of William Wallace Hartzell (ca. 1836-1915) and Rebecca Murray (1850-1884), was born in Marshall County, West Virginia. He married Matilda Mae McGary (1878-1971) in 1894. They had ten children. He died in Dillonvale, Ohio. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.

Samuel Nelson (1845-1937) immigrated in 1850 from Scotland to Salt Lake City, Utah with his Latter-day Saint convert parents, Robert Nelson and Elizabeth Joseph. They later moved to Smithfield, Utah and Samuel married Ann Janette McBride in 1865. Descendants and relatives lived in Utah, Idaho, California, Arizona and elsewhere. Some descendants went to Alberta and elswhere in Canada.
