Giles Porter Hastings (1826-1893) married Rhoda Ann Jarratt. They lived in Bedford county, Tennessee in 1850. Among his ancestors were Sir Henry and George Hastings, grandsons of the Earl of Huntington, who became Puritans and fled to New England in 1634.
