John M'Coy (1782-1859), son of William McCoy (b. 1754)) and Elizabeth Royse (b. 1758), was born in Pennsylvania and later lived in Kentucky and Indiana. He married Jane Collins in 1803. He was a descendant of James McCoy (d. 1801) and Ann Bruce, both immigrants from Northern Ireland. Descendants lived in Illinois, Texas, Indiana, and elsewhere.
