Arthur Nelson Hill (1881-1947), son of Henry William Hill (1848-1931) and Eliza Jane Beebe (1851-1924), was born in Silver Lake Township, Pennsylvania. He married Carmel Flavilla Devine (1886-1955), daughter of John Devine (1848-1909) and Hepsabeth Snow (1850-1923), in 1903 in Montrose, Pennsylvania. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Scotland, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

John (Johannes) Phillebaum was born ca. 1767. He married Margaret (surname unknown) ca. 1788. They lived in Pennsylvania and moved to Montgomery Co., Ohio sometime prior to the year 1830. John and Margaret were the parents of ten children. John died 1837 in Montgomery Co., Ohio. Descendants lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and elsewhere.

Joseph Olin is the oldest son of John Olin and Susannah Spencer. John Olin was impressed into a British man-o-war and jumped ship in Boston Harbor in 1678. Joseph was born in 1710 in East Greenwich, New Hampshire. He married Mary Aylesworth. From Rhode Island the family moved into Vermont and later to other states.
