Thomas McGee (1760-1822) was born in Ireland and immigrated to America in 1771 at age eleven. He and his family settled in the Mecklenburg area of western North Carolina. He later served in the American Revolution. Thomas married Amey Williams (1771-1843) and they were the parents of at least nine children.

Alney Lee McGee was born in 1844 in Texas and died in 1916 in California. His parents were Alney Taylor McGee (1810-1876) and Margaret Lee (1807-1888). He married Elizabeth Gunter (1853-1942). They had six children. Ancestors and descendants lived mainly in North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and California.

The McGee family came from Scotland. The earliest among the first settlers were John McGee, William and Richard McGee who settled in Virginia.

Joseph McGee died 1853.

"Benjamin Oscar McGee was born near Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, on 2 Aug 1850. He was the son of John McGee and Mary Ann Gallop. He married Cora Emma Crosby, daughter of Jonathan Crosby and Sarah Smart, at Brockway Twp, Stearns Co, Minnesota, on 15 Jul 1870. Benjamin died on 28 May 1923 at Klamath Falls, Oregon, at age 72. His body was interred on 2 Jun 1923 at Klamath Falls, Oregon, at Linkville Cemetery."--P. 1.
