Robert McGill (ca. 1816-ca. 1866) was born in South Carolina, probably the son of Andrew and Nancy McGill. Lucinda Caroline Moon (1818- 1904) was born in Monroe County, Mississippi, the daughter of Simon and Margaret Elizabeth Tomlin Moon. They were married in 1837 in Lowndes County, Mississippi. Rev. Hugh Magill (or McGill) was born ca. 1750 in Ireland. He married Margaret Anderson (daughter of John Anderson) and immigrated to America ca. 1782 with four of his brothers. Hugh became the first settled Presbyterian minister in Mifflin and Juniata Co., Pennsylvania. Hugh was the father of eleven children. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Kansas, New York, Rhode Island, Colorado, Florida, California and elsewhere.

William McElwee II (1718-1807) was the son of William McElwee I of County Tyronne, Ireland. William II and his brother David emigrated to America in 1750 and landed at Philadelphia, PA. Arthur and Patrick McGill, brothers, immigrated to Baltimore about 1770 and served in the Revolutionary War. "At the close of the War, Patrick McGill was about thirty years old, and Arthur probably five years older." They settled in Crawford Co., Pennsylvania and both died in 1832. Includes the biography of Andrew Ryan McGill, tenth governor of Minnesota.

John Stewart Sr. (1800-1895) was born in the parish of Skipness in Argylshire, Scotland. He immigrated to Canada in 1854 and settled in Elgin County, Ontario. He later immigrated to Elba, Michigan in 1856. He had married Janet Cook in 1829. One grandson, Alexander (1857-1938), married Emma Spears in 1882. Line is traced back to additional generations in Scotland. Other related lines are also given, including one in New York.

Jeremiah Frame (1752-1828), of Jackson Twp., Preble Co., Ohio, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He came to Ohio from Augusta Co., Virginia, and was the son of William and Susannah Frame. While still in Virginia, in 1777, he married Elizabeth McGill (1755-1843). By 1782 they were in Kentucky and were in Ohio by 1815.
