The emigrant ancestor, Thomas Smith I, was born in the 1830's in Ireland. He married Nov. 12, 1856 Julia Drum (ca. 1830-1889), daughter of Brian Drumover and Mary Brady of Ireland, in Shelby Co., Tennessee. She came to America during the famous potato famine. Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Charley Wesley McGinnis who was born 10 April 1871 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of Issac McGinnis and Sarah Osborn. Charley married Orie May Hulick 19 September 1893 in Beloit, Kansas. They lived in Oklahoma and were the parents of four sons and three daughters. Descendants lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Idaho, Washington and elsewhere.

Abinah Wood was born in New Jersey in 1777. He married Susannah Humphreys and they were the parents of fourteen children. Susannah was raised as a Quaker but after her marriage she became a Methodist. Abinah worked as a sea captain until he moved the family to Ohio where he became a farmer. Information on many of his descendants through 1900 is included in this volume. Descendants continue to live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and elsewhere.
