William Nightingale Sandifer (ca.1760-1850) moved from South Carolina to Lawrence County, Mississippi before 1824. Descendants lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico and elsewhere. William Green Childs, son of Elisha Childs and Cynthia Thornton, was born in 1824 in Barbour County, Alabama.
