The church was originally called Deutsche Evangelische St. Pauls Gemeinde or St. Pauls Gemeinde or Deutsche Evangelische St. Paulus Kirche. Later it was known as the German Evangelical St. Paul's Congregation (or Church) or St. Paul's Church or St. Paul's Evangelical Church. Around 1950 the name was changed to St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church and in the 1960's it became St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

The record book 1877-1902 contains records for Eglise de St. Jean Baptiste de Rocky Run (Church of St. John the Baptist of Rocky Run). Rocky Run was a small French settlement six miles west of Winsted. The church was built in 1868 but later destroyed by fire and the parish does not exist today.
