The McMillen family originally from the north of Ireland. Family of Margaret Jane McMillen (1838-1913), the daughter of Robert McMillen and Rosanna Harper. She was born in Logansport, Cass, Ind. She was married to William Springer Stewart (1836-1918) in 1861. He was born in Harrison Twp., Cass Co., Indiana.

Description
John McMillen was born in Ireland, Aug. 11, 1815 and immigrated to Ontario, Canada at an early age. He married a widow, Henrietta (Harriet) Free Eaton (1813-1879), Sept. 19, 1834. They were early settlers of Harrietsville, Ontario. John died Oct. 2, 1885. Their daughter Jane Eliza McMillen (1837-1909) married James Wright (1831-1912) on Oct. 2, 1862.

Description
Lydia Southwick (1757-1872) and Hugh McMillen (1774-1841) were married in Queensbury, New York in 1807. They were both descendants of Lawrence and Cassandra Southwick who immigrated from Lancashire, England to Salem, Mass. in 1630 and again in 1659. They were Quakers. They died at Shelter Island, New York in 1660 from exposure. Lydia and Hugh were the parents of 10 children.
