George McNiel (fl.1760-1782) immigrated from Scotland to Virginia, and married Mary Coates. They moved by 1778 to Wilkes County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Noth Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa and elsewhere.
