William James Mead was born in 1861 at Blenheim, Ontario and was the son of Thomas C. Mead, who was born in Nova Scotia. William immigrated to Fernald, Iowa. He married Emma Jane Smay in 1889 and died in 1924.

Her grandparents were Herbert Alonzo Howe (1858-1926), Fannie McClurg Shattuck (1861-1947), George Walbert (1862-1903) and Mary Elizabeth Gehman (1868-1960). Lawrence Johnson, so nof Edward Johnson and Ann Clayton, was born in 1801 in Kinston-upon-Hull, England. They emigrated in 1818 and settled first in New York and later in Pennsylvania. He married Sarah Bacon (d. 1834) in 1825. They had two children. He married Mary Winder (1814-1877) in 1837. They had ten children.

Thomas Lyon (ca.1621-1690) emigrated from England to Massachusetts about 1640, moved to Stamford, Connecticut by 1647, married twice, and moved to Greenwich, Connecticut. Descendants lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, Oregon and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada.

Moses Wood (1747-1818) and his brothers, Aaron and Nathan, moved from Sharon, Connecticut to Berkshire, Massachusetts and then to Pompey Hill, New York in 1806. He married Sarah Phelps in 1767. Thaddeus Mead Wood (1773-1836), son of Aaron Wood, was born in Lennox, Massachusetts, and married Patty Danforth. They moved to Onondaga County, New York in 1794. Descendants and relatives lived in New England New York, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere.
