Sarah Maria Mead was born 23 May 1856 in Eaton, New York. Her parents were Myron Nelson Mead (1816-1879) and Sarah Jane Wade (1824-1903). She married Thomas J. Jones (1851-1932) 15 March 1876. They had four children. Her son, Millard Myron Jones, was born 30 September 1881 in Dodge Center, Minnesota. He married Esther May Holloway (1883-1954) 21 December 1904. Howard LeRoy Lucia, son of Fred Lucia and Amelia E. Mead, was born in 1902 in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He married Victoria Maud Yehle, daughter of Arthur H. Yehle (1887-1955) and Ella Imerson (1883-1957), in 1932. He died in 1963 in Lake Elsinore, California.

William Mead was born in England in 1597 or 1600. He married Martha (d. 19 September 1657) in 1625. They came to Massachusetts in 1635 and later moved to Connecticut. WIlliam died in 1663. Descendants lived in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Iowa, Michigan and Alabama.
