Ashby Lee Ogburn was born 15 March 1863 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. His parents were Wesley Ogburn (1834-1885) and Flournoy J. Gill (1834-1900). He married Harriet Jane Petty 16 October 1883. They had eight daughters. She died in 1899. He married Elizabeth Gascoyne in 1904 and they had one son. Ashby died in 1935. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina.

George Bigbie was living in Richmond County, Virginia as early as the 1730s. He was married twice and was the father of four children. Two of his children were Archibald Bigbie (b. 1734) who married Lydia Calvert (1748-1819) and was the father three children, and George Bigbie (1736-1778) who married Catherine and was the father of five children. Their descendants live in Virginia and other parts of the United States.
