William Unger/Monger is believed to be the immigrant ancestor. He arrived with Capt. John Smith in Jamestowne, Virginia in 1607. Descendants are scattered throughout the United States.

Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of John Mounger (or Munger) who immigrated to America ca. 1638. By the year 1650, he settled in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia. John married twice and was the father of five known children. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Kansas, Illinois, Texas and elsewhere.

Nicholas Munger (d.1668) immigrated from England, possibly in 1639, to Guilford, Connecticut, and married Sarah Hall in 1659. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Virginia, Alabama and elsewhere.

John Clark was born in about 1612 in England. He emigrated from Ipswich, Suffolk in 1634, when he was twenty-two, and settled in Boston. He married Mary before 1639, when he moved to New Haven, Connecticut. They had four children. He died in 1648. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, California and Oregon.
