William Forkner (d.1807) lived in Surry County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, Idaho, Washington, Tennessee, Indiana, California, Missouri, Georgia, Alabama and elsewhere. Vol. 1 arranged in alphabetical order by surname, then by given name. Vol. 2 covers descendants of Forkner families (plus variant spellings), compiled by various individual members of the Forkner Clan.

The ancestor of Isaac Garrison (ca. 1732-1836) came to the New World from France about 1686 and settled on Staten Island, New York. There were four generations of Isaac Garrison. The various families scattered throughout New York, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. They later moved into Kentucky, Iowa, South Carolina and elsewhere.

Lawrence Ellison (ca. 1592-ca. 1665) was born at Blackburn, Lancaster County, England. He married Mary Rishton at Blackburn in 1617. They had eight children, 1623-1631 born at Blackburn. He died at Hempstead, Queens County, New York. Descendants listed, chiefly some descendants of his sons, Richard Elison (1618-after 1689) and Thomas Ellison (1631-1697), lived in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Florida, Canada and elsewhere.
