James Ellis (1758-1817) was born in Albany, New York and grew up in New Jersey where he met Sarah Riggs. He moved with members of the Riggs family to eastern Tennessee and married Sarah. They became the parents of eight children. Their numerous descendants live in Tennessee, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma and other parts of the United States.

Includes early Logan families in Scotland, Ireland, Virginia and North Carolina. William A. Logan was born 31 July 1814 in Moore County, Tennessee. His parents were Reuben Butler Logan (1794-1845) and Elizabeth Ingle (1798-1863). He married Permelia Neece (1814-1869) 30 January 1834. They had twelve children. They moved to Missouri in 1852. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri and Texas. .

Pierre Chastain was born in 1663 in France. He married Marie Madeleine de la Rochefoucauld. They had two children. He married Ann Brian Sublett, daughter of Abraham Soblet and Susanne Brien, in about 1701 in Manikintown, Virginia. They had seven children. He died 3 October 1728. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, South Carolina, Arkansas and Texas.

Parrot Evans (1802-1860) was born in Anson Co., N.C., and died in Itawamba Co., Miss. His wife, Susanna Kaiser? (1802-1872), was also born in Anson Co. They had ten children born in Anson Co., N.C. and in Itawamba Co., Mississippi, where family had migrated in 1837 from North Carolina. Parrot and Susanna Evans were among the first to start New Salem community in Mississippi. Descendants live in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, California and elsewhere....
