Family of William Neeley (ca. 1720-1782), who was probably born in Ireland or Pennsylvania. He was married to Eleanor (b. ca. 1724) about 1743/44 possibly in Pennsylvania. William first appears in Orange County, N.C. in 1755. William and Eleanor had six children born in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Phillip Ballard was born ca. 1705 in Essex County, Virginia. He married Ann Nancy Johnson ca.1733 in Orange County, Virginia. They had 11 children there. Of these children, only Larkin, the 8th, died out of state (Kentucky). John Neely (b.ca1715) was born in Ireland. He emigrated to the Colonies in 1745 and settled in Middletown Twp., Cumberland Co., PA. He married Isabella in about 1747. Anders Persson Groberg (1805-1887) was a son of per Ersson Hellberg Groberg and Margareta Andersdotter. Anders married Catharina Andersotter in 1826, and they became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1870.
