Description
Johann Toevs (1836-1913), son of Dutch immigrants to Russia Heinrich Toews and Helena Janzen, immigrated from Russia to land near Woodbine, Kansas in 1874. Two of his brothers and one sister later immigrated to join him. Descendants (most used Toews, some used Toevs as surnames) lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Oregon, California and elsewhere.

Mary Repphun Neufeld was born in Russia in 1905. Her parents had 19 children many of whom did not survive childhood in peasent Russia. In 1910 Mary was sent to work and live in the Neufeld home. Peter Neufeld (1812-1882) was probably born in Prussia. He later moved to Sparrau in South Russia. His son Abraham (1842-1916) and his wife, Maria Toews were the first in the family to immigrated to the U.S., eventually settling in Marion County, Kansas and Oklahoma. Other family members followed, settling in Oklahoma, Kansas, and later California.

Peter Schultz (1845-1933), a Mennonite of German lineage, was born in Ekaterinslaw Province of South Russia, and married three times. The family immigrated in 1881 from Russia to land near Hillsboro, Kansas, moved in 1893 to Oklahoma, in 1907 to Oregon, and in 1921 to Shafter, California. Descendants lived in Oklahoma, Oregon, California, Washington, some midwestern states and elsewhere.

Anna Klassen was born 6 March 1902 in the Russian Colony of Ignatyevo. Her parents were Peter Klassen and Margareta Ens. She migrated to Siberia and then to China in 1930. She married George Neufeld (d. 1930) in 1930 in Harbin, China. She immigrated to America in 1931.

Chiefly descendants of Elder Napoleon R. Kaufman, son of Joseph (1811-1896) and Katrina Goering Kaufman. Elder Kaufman was born 6January 1862 in Beresowka, Russia and died 30 March 1929 at Moundridge, Kansas. He married Fannie Stucky, daughter of Elder Jacob Stucky (1824-1893) on 19 January 1883, the ceremony being performed by her father. Abram Braun (1860-1919), son of Jacob Braun and Helena Kauenhoven, was born in the Berthal Colony in South Russia. HIs father died when he was five and his mother married Johann Swatsky. They emigrated in 1875 and settled first in North Dakota and then in Manitoba. Abram married Anna Falk (1866-1938), daughter of Peter Falk and Maria Reimer, in 1886. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Canada and Paraguay.
