Christian Newcomer was born 30 May 1779 near Leitersburg, Maryland. His parents were John Newcomer (1747-1824) and Frany. He married Anna Shank (1774-1855) and they had seven children. Christian was a minister in the Stouffer Mennonite Church in Washington County, Maryland. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland and Ohio. Includes letters written to Christian's son, Peter, after he moved to Ohio.
