Nicholas William Nickerson married Mary, daughter of John Darby/Derby. Their children include a child that died in 1667. Hester (b. 1656) married Jonathan White in 1682. William (b. 1658) married Mary Snow. Elizabeth (b. 1662) was single in 1706. John (b. 1664) married Elizabeth Baker. Mary (b. 1668) married in 1691 to Simon Crosby. Sarah (b. 1674) married John Burgess. Patience (b. 1682) was single in 1706.

Biography of Huldah (Chapman) Nickerson (1780-1860), wife of Freeman Nickerson. They became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and moved from New York to Nauvoo, Illinois (via a trip to Canada to see two of their sons). In 1850 they started across the plains for Utah; he died enroute, and she settled in Utah Valley, having walked most of the way at the age of 70.

Winthrop Smart was born at Newmarket, New Hampshire about 1740. He was a son of Joseph Smart of Exeter, N.H. He married Rebecca Nickerson, daughter of Joshua Nickerson, a Baptist minister, and settled in the town of Eaton, N.H. Winthrop was a blacksmith by trade. William Nickerson was born in 1604 in Norwich, England, to William Nickerson and Alice. He married Anne Busby ca. 1627. She was born in 1607 or 1608 in Norwich, England, to Nicholas Busby and Bridget Cocke. He died between 30 Aug 1689 and 8 Sep 1690 in Monomoit, Massachusetts. She died after 18 May 1686 in Monomoit, Massachusetts. The family emigrated from England in 1637. They were the parents of ten children.

Mulford Nickerson, son of Archelous Nickerson and Dorothy Holcomb, was born 1789 in Salisbury, Connecticut. He married Eunice Hanchett 12 May 1811. They moved to DeKalb County, Illinois. They had six children. Mulford died 21 November 1877 in Illinois. Descendants lived primarily in Michigan, New York and Illinois.

Freeman Nickerson, son of Eleazar Nickerson and Thankful Chase, was born 5 February 1799 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He married Huldah Chapman (1780-1860), daughter of Eliphalet Chapman and Abigail Chase, 9 January 1801 in Cavendish, Vermont. They had nine children. He died in 1847 in Iowa. Huldah died in 1860 in Provo, Utah. Includes Bailey, Barrus and related families.

Caroline Eliza Nickerson was born 25 June 1808 in Cavendish, Windsor, Vermont. Her parents were Freeman Nickerson and Huldah Chapman. She married Marshall Moore Hubbard, Thomas Grover and Andrew Jackson Stewart. She was the mother of nine children and stepmother to six. She died 28 July 1889 in Grantsville, Utah.

Freeman Nickerson (1778-1847) and his wife, Hulda Chapman (b. 1801); Thomas McBride (1776-1838) who was the father of James McBride (1818- 1881); and Emery Barrus (1809-1899) were relatives who belonged to the L.D.S. Church before and during the early migration from Nauvoo to Utah. James and Emery settled in Grantsville where many descendants remained. They were ancestors of the author.

Samuel Godwin, son of John Godwin and Catherine Levens, was born in 1818 in Southwark, London, England. He married Eliza Ann Chisholm (1817-1899), daughter of David Chisholm and Margaret Ann McNaggy, in 1845 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They had six children. He died in 1906. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Nova Scotia.
