"WILLIAM GOE (formerly spelled Gooe) was a native of Scotland who migarated [sic] to America in 1702 and settled in Prince George's County MD near what later became known as Upper Marlboro. "He married Mary Boyd (Bateman) on Jan. 27, 1725. . . . "With his family William Goe migrated from Maryland, about 1773, to Fayette Co., PA (then Somerset Co., VA) . . . . John Stull was probably born in Germany between 1680-1700. He immigrated to America before 1725. He and his wife, Martha, had ten children. The first four were probably born in Pennsylvania, the others in Prince George's County, Maryland. He was the first permanent German settler west of Frederick County, Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas and elsewhere.

Hyrum Smith Washburn (1853-1924) was a descendant of William Washburn, of Connecticut and of Long Island, N. Y. William's son Abraham married Tamar Tompkins in 1824 in N. Y. before joining the L.D.S. Church. They migrated to Utah, and were sent to San Pete County where their ten children were reared.
