George Noland was born in Virginia in 1763, married there in 1786, and had one son, Peyton Noland, born in 1793 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Peyton served in the War of 1812, drew land in Monroe County, Georgia in the 1821 land lottery, then married Sallie (Sarah) Moseley (Mosley, Mozeley) in 1821 in Walton County, Georgia. Descendants of this Noland family have lived in Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, Texas, and elsewhere.
