Autobiography, diary and transcripts of oral tapes, (the latter made in 1973) of Emma Amelia Vance, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints born in Mesa, Arizona in 1896. Her family immigrated to Raymond, Alberta in 1906. She married Benjamin Franklin Olsen Jr. in 1916, and died in 1973 in Cardston, Alberta.

Christian Olsen was born 21 January 1825 in Raade, Ostfold, Norway. He married Annie Ellingsdatter (1835-1900), daughter of Elling Andersen and Gudbjor Erichsdatter Grinager, 1 April 1859 at sea. They had ten children. He died 11 February 1915 in Weston, Idaho.

Andrew Peter Olsen (also known as Peter Kesko) was born in Kjaersgaard, Denmark in 1832. In 1851 he married Ane Johanna Mortensen. In 1862 they joined the LDS Church and in 1867 they traveled to Utah. They settled in Ephraim, Sanpete County. In 1877 Ane died and Andrew returned to Denmark with the hope of purchasing the farm that he had sold.
