Samuel Palmer (1784-1855) married Sarah Skinner in 1807 and lived in Orleans County, Vermont. In 1817 they moved to Franklin County, Vermont where they raised 8 children. In 1836 the family migrated to Franklin County, Ohio; by 1844 they had moved on to Indiana.

Joseph Orcutt was born in 1672 in Marshfield, Massachusetts. He married Sarah Smith (1672-1753), daughter of James Smith and Mary Brandon in about 1697 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. They had ten children. He died between 1748 and 1758 in Stafford, Connecticut. They resided in Salem, Massachusetts and later settled in Bridgewater, Massachusetts by the year 1650. Samuel and Susanna were the parents of eight children.
