Jotham Bemus (ca.1738-1786) lived on the west bank of the Hudson River about 4 miles north of Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York, and married Tryphena Moore. He and his sons fought with the Revolutionary Army when attacked by Burgoyne and the British (at least in part, the battle took place on Bemus's land).
