Henry Padget was born in about 1780 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He married Penelope Eidson (1785-1855), daughter of John Eidson and Patience Watson. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina. Some descendants spell their name Padgett.

Two brothers, Absolam and John Lancaster, settled in Spartanburg County, South Carolina just prior to the Revolutionary War. Absolam's descendant, Edgar B. Lancaster (1884-1937), was born in South Carolina and married Mattie Lee Hines (b. 1886), daughter of Miller and Margaret Gilbert Hines. Descendants lived in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and elsewhere.
