Richard Ozment was born ca. 1800 in North Carolina. His family moved to Wilson Co., Tennessee when Richard was a lad of twelve or thirteen. He married Rebecca (Polly) Eddings in Tennessee and they were the parents of twelve children. Richard probably died in Tennessee ca. 1866. Descendants lived primarily in Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
