Jewell Parton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Parton of Arkansas and Oklahoma who were married in 1914 in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was raised in Arkansas and Oklahoma and later married Bob Hyatt. Her grandparents were William Russel Jones and Ivy Parton. Family members live in Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida, California, and elsewhere.

Robert Messer was born in about 1715 in North Carolina. He had one known son, John Messer, who is presumed to be the father of Christian Sargant Messer (1760-1850) and Solomon Messer (ca. 1765-ca. 1825). Christian married Sarah Jane in about 1784 and they had ten children. Solomon married Rachel March in about 1798 and they had thirteen children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington. .

Stephen Goodyear (died 1658) immigrated from England to New Haven, Connecticut during or before 1638, and he became Deputy Governor of Connecticut from 1643 to 1658. In 1648 he married Margaret Lamberton, widow of George Lamberton. He died during a trip to England, and his estate was settled after the news of his death arrived.
