Johann Georg Froschauer, son of Hans Conrad Froschauer, was born in about 1700 in Meckenheim-an der-Hard, Pfalz, Germany. He married Catharina Graf (d. 1771), daughter of Hans Adam Graf, between 1722-1729 in Germany. They had twelve children. He married Elizabeth Tempel 28 April 1771 in Frederick County, Maryland. He died in about 1790. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
