John Wooten (1795-1869) and Elizabeth (1800-1876), both of South Carolina, were married ca. 1818 and moved to Georgia, where they acquired land in Habersham County. Sometime between 1835 and 1840, they moved to Chatooga County; they raised a family of 13 children. Both John and Elizabeth died in Chatooga County. Descendants have lived in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and California.

John Pepperal Teape, Jr. (1821-1897) immigrated in 1837 from Ireland to Bremer County, Iowa (with his widowed mother and the family after his father's death at sea). Descendants and relatives lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Idaho, Texas, New York and elsewhere.

Yelverton Payton was born in Virginia in 1755, explored Kentucky and fought in the Revolution War, and died in 1849 in Kentucky where he had settled. His children and grandchildren later moved west into Missouri where many of them still reside.

Felix D. Fowler was born in 1809 in West Virginia and married Susan Pitman about 1830. They moved to Butler County, Ohio before 1832, and in 1855 to Fredonia, Louisa County, Iowa. He died in 1859. His descendants are still in the area and are traced up to 1945.

John Isaac Payton was born 28 March 1856 in Washington Township, Allen Co., Indiana. He was the fourth son of William P. Payton and Sarah Jane Clinger. In 1880, he married Josephine A. Rondot. They were the parents of six children and resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After the death of Josephine, John married Mary Leize 24 June 1900. His descendants lived primarily in Indiana and elsewhere.
