John Van Clief emigrated from The Netherlands to Richmond, Staten Island, New York and married Sarah Marshall. A grandson, John Van Clief (1790-1845), emigrated from the United States to Bloomfield, Ontario, and married Hannah Hubbs. Descendants and relatives lived in Ontario, Manitoba and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Michigan, Illinois, California and elsewhere in the United States. Includes some Hubbs ancestry in New York.

Johan Wilhelm Volprecht (1717-1808) was born in Edelak, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He immigrated to America at the age of twenty five. He was indentured in Northampton Co., Pa., and naturalized in 1762, and moved to the Yadkin Valley of North Carolina. He met and married Christiannah Hallstead, the daughter of Timothy Hallstead, Jr., a Long Island merchant and an international trader. They were married in the early 1740's and had eleven children....

Gabriel Leggett (b. 1635) emigrated from England to Westchester County, New York about 1670/1676, & married Elizabeth Richardson about 1676. He died before July 1700. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
