The earliest known ancestor was Thomas Pait who lived at Woodhead of Blackwood, Lemahagow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the father of Thomas Pait (b. 165-?) who was the ancestor of George Pate (b. 1773) whose descendants immigrated to Canada and changed their names to Peat. Descendants live in Scotland, Canada and other parts of the world. The supplement includes information on a branch of the family that immigrated to New Zealand in 1864.

John Allen (1821-1903), son of George Allen and Elizabeth Andrew, married Harriet Hough in 1842. In 1856 they emigrated from England to Clifton, Grant County, Wisconsin. Thomas Fairchild was one of the first settlers of Stratford, Connecticut. He probably married Sarah Seabrooke, daughter of Robert Seabrooke, in England. Francis Nicholls. son of Francis Nicholls and Margaret, settled in Stratford, Connecticut in 1639. He had four children by his first wife. He married Anna Wines in 1645 and they had one daughter. Caleb Nicholls married Ann Warde in about 1650. They had thirteen children.
