William Rufus Griffin was born 14 May 1865 in Rockwall, Texas. His parents were Henry Perkins Griffin (1839-1881) and Cynthia Elizabeth Penry (1842-1890). He married Lula Adkisson (1875-1953), daughter of John Adkisson and Virginia Hurd, in 1895 in Columbia, Tennessee. They had eight children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois and California.

Christopher Day and his wife, Martha, were baptized at the Pennyback Baptist Church in Pheladelphia County, Pennsylvania, in 1714. They were the parents of at least six children. He died in 1748 and was buried at the Cross Keys Cemetery, Plumstead Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants listed, chiefly those of his son, Mathew Day, lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and elsewhere.
