Edmond Franklin Durfee (1861-1942) was born in Springville, Utah to Jabez Durfee (1828-1883) and his wife, Celestia Curtis (1832-1891). Jabez married Nancy Ellen Martin (1867-1916) who was born in Juab County, Utah to Josiah Fleming Martin (1815-1881) and Catherine Fahy (1827-1897). Conrad and Margaretha Kilts, who were likely born in Germany and married by 1725, brought their children to New York between 1730 and 1739, settling on the Stone Arabia Patent north of the Mohawk River in what is now Montgomery County. Some of their early descendants served in the French and Indian, and Revolutionary Wars. Most of the descendants listed in this work lived in New York or nearby throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.
