Alanson Pierce was probably born in Pennsylvania and came to Illinois as early as 1822. He married Elizabeth Fowler, daughter of Mason Fowler and Prudence Hill, 28 September 1823 in Sangamon County, Illinois. They had three sons, Oren, Ira and Philetus. Alanson died in 1832 or 1833. Descendants lived in Illinois, Iowa and North Dakota.
