Richard William Pippin (1788-1871) was born in Maryland, served with Virginia men in the War of 1812, married Elizabeth Hobbs in 1819 in Franklin County, Indiana, and by 1830 lived in Dearborn County, Indiana, moving in 1848 to Tazewell County, Illinois. Descendants lived in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada.

Theodore Micajah McClellan, Sr. was born 5 October 1905 in Columbus, Georgia. His parents were John Hiram McClellan, Jr. (1856-1922) and Hannah Carolyn Pippin (1863-1945). He married Clyde Glyn Thompson (1903-1992), daughter of Andrew Jackson Thompson and Ora Florence Ray, 29 June 1929 in Atlanta. They had three sons. He died in 1976.
