Cyrus Burson, son of John Burson (1793-1879) and Mary Gregg (1799-1875), was born in 1816 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He married Ann Catherine Ecton (1814-1894) in 1833. They had eight children. He died in 1892 in Milo, Iowa.

John Thomas was born in about 1775 in Bideford, Devonshire, England. He married Elizabeth Leard, daughter of Samuel Leard and Margaret Rogers 20 August 1798 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. They had seven children. John died in 1849 in Tryon, Prince Edward Island. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and British Columbia.
