Azariah Lathrop (1772-1864), son of Samuel Lathrop (1743-1801) and Sarah Oakman (1741-1825), was born in Lisbon/Newent, Connecticut. He married Esther Lewis (1772-1858), daughter of Barnabas Lewis (1731-1811) and Rachel Curtis (1741-1817), 17 January 1796 in Wells, Vermont. They had eleven children. He died in Belvidere, Illinois.

He married Katherine Merritt, daughter of Henry Merritt and Deborah Buck, 16 June 1644 in Scituate, Massachusetts. They had thirteen children. John died in about 1676.
